ModestoFan 09-19-2003, 11:01 PM Yeah, a shorty against...that always sucks... X-SHARKIE 09-20-2003, 08:48 AM Wayne Priemeau helped him self out. He was very active according to a ducks fan I talk with plus he put a goal in the net. I guess Michalek and Damphouse worked really well adn Michalek is more flashy then we think and his defensive awareness is a step ahead of alot of players in the NHL today. Kippersauf had alot of saves and supposivly 2 nice ones..but the third goal witch was the game winner was ugly. Gorges played a heck of a game as well. Preissing was impressive. McCaulley played very well as did Harvey. These are non biased impressions as well..from a ducks fan. So to here guys like Gorges, Preissing getting props is good to hear. ps. anyone going to the Kings game Or the Coyotes on Wed? I have no way to get respone on those games. Or waite isnt the Coyotes game on Radio? I hope to see Bernier pluged in a game now. Hockeycrazed07 09-20-2003, 09:11 AM Question: What the heck kind of D lots the opposing team take it to the barn twice on the PK? What the heck kind of PP D lets Prospal slip out for an unassisted goal? Kipper stopped 34 of 37 shots, and 34 of 36 if you take out the two PK goals. Those two goals on the Duck PK look like gaffes in the D more than Kipper messing up, though Kipper might have done something silly in the end to allow the goal. Either Prospal made an absolutely sick move to tear through the entire SJ PP D, or there were a couple of blown assignments. Anaheim was 0-for-7 on the PP. Who is a team's best PK guy, again? Are we seriously turning into Philly or Detroit (sans-Cups), where the goalie is the problem no matter what else happens? Technically, I suppose we've been there for awhile. ~Crazed. X-SHARKIE 09-20-2003, 10:27 AM You got a point crazed....Like I said the fellow I was talkign with this Mourning said that Kippersauf actually made alot of saves in the game and that two of them were Spectacular. But the third goal was his fault. He miss read the play and was way out of position...basically giving it to Prospal. I didnt ask about the 4th goal. corbanSOG 09-20-2003, 11:00 AM You got a point crazed....Like I said the fellow I was talkign with this Mourning said that Kippersauf actually made alot of saves in the game and that two of them were Spectacular. But the third goal was his fault. He miss read the play and was way out of position...basically giving it to Prospal. I didnt ask about the 4th goal. the 4th goal was an empty netter. the box score makes the sharks look worse than they actually are. 2 sh goals against would have been horrendous, but i wouldn't really count that last one. kipper actually made 34 saves on 37 shots, which isn't too shabby. fault the d for allowing the ducks to get 37 shots on him. bryzgalov only faced 22 shots. even a preseason sharks team lacking some of their top offensive guys should be able to produce more offense than that. hopefully things will start to come together as the preseason progresses. Kevin Wey 09-20-2003, 11:21 AM Let your goalie get bombarded, and odds are, one softie will occur. So, if Miikka makes that one save, this might have been a 2-2 game. Had the defense not allowed 38 shots (counting the empty-net goal) things could have been different too. Sounds like their was blame to go around. Still, Toskala has a good shot to stay ahead of Miikka if he doesn't allow any softies. gruntsplatter 09-20-2003, 12:09 PM my comment was referring to leaving the net to clear the puck turning it over to Prospel and allowing him essentially a freebie. It sounds like other than that he did pretty well, still shaking the rust off I'm sure. | ||
