He's gonna be in the NHL no doubts about it. I expect him to get a third line responsibity. Last year he had 9 goals. No reason he cant hit that mark again... I expect 14 G and 22 Assist my self.... He'll progress more though in his third season I expect.

LittlePenguin66: Hmmm...well, Cheechoo is a winger who really could end up anywhere from the second line to the fourth line, depending on how he does and what type of dynamic the coaching staff wants. He has decent hands, but his agility is limited, so...I personally don't see Cheechoo as being more than a third liner in his career. He really proved he could throw some hits though. His top speed isn't bad, just not the best agility.
So, Cheechoo has the potential to score some goals this season, depending on which line he falls. You're just going to have to hold your breath for a while.

I agree with x-sharkie. I'll also add that he has serious heart and determination that can only be matched. He seems to know where the play is going (good instints) but unfortunately his game kinda depends on that because his agility leaves something to be desired. Sometimes, though even when he's flailing about seemingly uncontrolably he somehow controls the puck, regains composure for a split second and surprises everybody by getting off a nifty shot--Pure heart and determination and that can go a long way. But again, I agree with x-sharkie, I think that next year could be his year--But not impossibly this year.

Yes I would. He's got heart and soul that you only find in a player 1 out of 100 times.... His shot is also just a rocket and accurate. Keep him.
If it makes you feal more confident....In the Sharks 1st and only pre season game so far he got a goal.

Shorthanded too! Definitely didn't see him in a PK role last year, nor did I expect him to be in a PK role this year... but hey, if his skating keeps getting better, he's definitely got the tenacity.

FYI, heres an article for ya....
Jonathan Cheechoo (http://www.rotoworld.com/display2.asp?sport=NHL&page=players&X=2100&Y=0) - W - San Jose Sharks (http://www.rotoworld.com/display2.asp?sport=NHL&page=clubhouse&team=SJ)

Jonathan Cheechoo has impressed for the Sharks so far.
The 23 year-old scored the Sharks' first pre-season goal, and is looking like he may crack San Jose's second line. Although he only had 9 goals and 16 points last season in 66 games last season, if he is given the opportunity, Cheechoo may be able to put up a 20 goal, 40 point season with the Sharks.

Of course, if u can replace Cheechoo with someone who has a guaranteed scoring line spot on any NHL-team, do it.
