whenever i try to install software/hardware or even the windows updates
it tells me it has failed the windows logo test
anyone know any tricks to bypass this?

NVM, i miss understanded you, i though you were vertifying your CDkey to get stuff like MS antispyware beta
Dont worry about the windows logo test thing, it just means that it did not undergo tests by MS itself if the software works on XP or not
ex//ATi drivers did get approved, Omega modifies ATi drivers to get more performance out of then, WInXP says they are not approved....

There's something (spyware, virus, whatever...) that's been going around recently unregistering the DLLs where the Trusted Root Certificates are stored (don't know what causes it yet, but I know how to fix it). Whenever you log into Windows, do you get a message saying something like: "Some files required to run Windows have been modified. Please insert the cd...", then, even if you do insert the CD, the next time you log in, the message returns?

nope no messgaes like that and when i do finally get something installed it works fine
bt the 1st time i really got it was trying to do the windows updates themselves
so not that all of these are totally nesscary
o here is a old copy of one of the error mess

the windows updates have yet to install properly
most other things will take but sometimes i gotta get creative
