computer crashing....

Well I just bought a new computer and I got nhl 2004 ( to relax while I am not working ) and it seams that the game keep crashing and frozing (btw I tried another game and it did the same). I completly reformated my disk, reinstalled WinXP, all my drivers etc...

any one have any idea what can be that problem...

its a Intel P4 3.0 gighrz, 1 gig ram, video card radeon 9600 256 meg

I'm quite a beginner at these sorts of things, but updating my video drivers always seemed to fix problems like these when it came to games not working properly or crashing.. Try nvidia.com or something?
