Kitchener should be back in the top 10 in the next few weeks.

Kitchener plays London twice this week (tonight), should be interesting to see how these games go with all the new additions on both sides.

I think if Kitchener comes out of these two games winning one, they'll be happy. Those lines look pretty good, if you switch Voakes and McGrath. McGrath has been playing wing since Richards came back from the WJC - a much better spot for him, IMO.

The 4th line will be the most interesting to watch in Kitchener over the balance of this year -- all 16 year olds -- Applebaum-Azavedo-Combs. These three could make a big difference in where the Rangers end up this season.

Yes and if Owen Sound had Sekera and Ruzicka, they probably still would have beaten the Knights at home, they only lost 4-3 to the Knights at home and were missing one of their best defensemen...

Interesting you bring up overshadowed balddog66, there are a few teams that are having amazing seasons as well. I, for one, am surprised to see how Owen Sound is doing this year. Mike Futa has done a great job with assembling his roster, and thats been made especially clear with his most recent trades. Lets take a quick look at how the roster came together.

First off, the Big Snake signing brought in a legitimate tough guy, but what has surprised me the most is his offensive production. He has contributed very well this season. Then Futa sees the need for a defensive defenseman and goes out and plucks Paul Bissonnette from Saginaw's fire sale. Well then Futa goes out and picks up Mike Brown in a three way deal that saw goalie Dan LaCosta head to Barrie. Brown, since then, has an impressive 8-1-0 record since joining the Platers, err Attack. By then you'd think that Futa and head coach Mike Stothers are done tinkering but the deadline approaches and more moves are made. Center Chris Rebernik is acquired from Toronto and then with that pickup they can now expend Kevin Baker to go out and get U-17 gold medalist d-man Kyle Lamb. Owen Sound now has a legitimate chance at taking down the Knights.

So theres a great tangent on the moves Owen Sound made but back on topic now, among teams from the O that could slip in the top 10, I would have to put Peterborough ahead of Kitchener. They have flown under the radar in the East and have a solid roster. They currently have 4 players with 40 points and have what I think is the biggest turnaround year for a defenseman in Trevor Hendrikx. Known the past two years for mainly dropping the gloves, Trevor is about to surpass his point totals from last season and has really stepped up to be one of the leaders for the Petes.

I agree, I would put the Petes ahead of Kitchener right now. The midwest division is getting a lot of attention, and the Petes are just quietly going about their business.

Kitchener is going to have to put a winning streak together before they can even be looked at as a top 10 team - and when you're playing a lot of your games against London/Owen Sound/Erie it's not going to be easy. A lot will depend on how well Rizk and Donnally play in Kitchener, and how healthy London, Owen Sound and Kitchener can stay for the rest of the year.

I'd be interested to hear how Donally does in Kitchener, as Paul McFarland was a favorite of mine. Paulie seemed like a heart and soul guy and solid on the PK, was he moved because his offensive numbers weren't up to snuff? I love Kitch getting Rizk, he seems like a perfect fit with Richards and may finally be the linemate he's been missing since Kanko left.

Whats Kitchener's record? I think I saw they had lost 11 games this year and a few in OT. If they never played the Knights they'd be in the top 10 with only losing 8 regulation games and 1 less OT game.

Kitchener is currently 20-11-4-4 and while record obviously has something to do with the rankings it is not everything. There are a lot of factors that go into the CHL top ten rankings, not just a teams record. I dont see how not playing the Knights would factor into just Kitchener's top 10, not playing the Knights would help everyone.

I think Kitchener and Peteborough have very similiar teams. Goaltending is still a huge question mark with Peteborough though.
