Anyone else use Vonage? or other VOIP

was cheaper -- and being a techie I thought it would be cool

nothing bad to say about them except, the long long time transferring my existing number and there call center is horrific (when calling about the delay in the transfer)

Do you mean just with the PC or as an alternative to common telephony?
I use Skype as my client which has an absolute amazing quality (from the kazaa creators, works like a p2p-network), the best I ever tried. Only drawback is that it really slows down your internet connection.

i meant as a replacement to standard telephony but all the same I was just curious.

I have ATT Callvantage. I like it since as a Canadian living in the USA I call back to Canada quite a bit. Paying nothing extra for long distance is great.
