Kudos to ESPN. They were smart enough to realize that there is plenty of interest in the U.S. for tonight’s final. You have Flyer fans that have an interest in Carter and Richards, Ranger fans in Dawes, Cap fans in Ovechkin and Pittsburgh fans in Malkin, etc. And many of us want to see this kid Crosby. This is like a future All-star game tonight and ESPN realized that. Good for them! :handclap:

The TV Guide isn't updated. I've got Adelphia Digital Cable, and for the game against Russia, it still read that the World Series of Poker would be on. I would hope that the bronze game will be on.

from my own experience with ESPN, they SUCK at updating anything! so if the ticker says CANADA VS. RUSSIA at 8pm...then its most likely its right

The Sugar Bowl was last night, btw.

As long as someone isn't pulling our leg, all I can say is THANK GOD! I haven't had a chance to see Sidney Crosby play for any length of time beyond brief clips.


P.S. For what it's worth, Boston University opened its new arena last night with a 2-1 win over the #1-ranked University of Minnesota, the second game of a doubleheader between the two. The first game on Sunday night was the last game in the old rink, the legendary Walter Brown Arena.

I just think they enjoy not airing hockey. I remember that up until the lockout officially started, they had 12 hours of hockey scheduled to air, on opening day, on ESPNClassic. The second the lockout became official, they rescheduled and aired a bunch of baseball documentaries in that timeslot.

You're probably right. That was only place that actually had the game listed and now it's gone. It's not even on the ticker of ESPN or ESPN 2 on television. Some stupid intern made a mistake of putting it up, got our hopes up and then crushed them. :mad:

I sent an email to get this game on. I mean it's just common sense, you can't expect people just to follow this tournament and now even being shown the end result of it. It's just common sense ESPN.

To show Classic boxing over this game well sicken me. ALthough the National championship game worries me Disney will want as many viewers as possible including those who rather watch a U-20 game.

Now, tell me where you SAW it said they'd air the game regardless. Even the announcers (who would probably have the best inside track) didn't even make mention of this. At the end of the Russia/USA game, they said basically "Thanks for watching folks, goodnight".

All I heard was that they would show the gold medal game IF the USA played in it. The USA played too early in the day today to get any kind of national audience. I see they lost that game too. :(
