To Windsor Paul McFarland 6th round pick Futures To Kitchener Ryan Donally To Brampton: Kyle Sonnenburg To Belleville: 5th rounder Boomhower 01-03-2005, 02:33 PM You sure onespeed? The OHL website says Jarram for Wharton straight up. Wharton has already appeared in a couple games for Sault Ste. Marie, along side Vanderveeken and Staubitz (including yesterday). Maybe there was a seperate follow up trade today, cuz apparantly Wharton and Staubitz weren't involved in the same trade. OHL transactions list. (http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/media_notes/) flip588 01-03-2005, 02:41 PM That's one from last week, check out the 67's press release on today's trade here (http://www.ottawa67s.com/news/zoomNews.php?prID=248). Boomhower 01-03-2005, 02:50 PM That's one from last week, check out the 67's press release on today's trade here (http://www.ottawa67s.com/news/zoomNews.php?prID=248). Oh, neither team had that on the front page of their website. VanderVeeken's fourth team already. FearTheFlyers 01-03-2005, 03:56 PM VanderVeeken's fourth team already. Yeah, he is the new official sl ut of the OHL. Boomhower 01-04-2005, 04:03 PM To Sarnia: Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn To Guelph: Kelsey Wilson + Conditional 15th rounder in '05 Franchin gets his wish.. To Toronto: Peter Franchin To Saginaw: Steven Whitley Also, (minor deal) To Ottawa: Matthew Spezza To Kingston: Futures Speculation: Windsor papers say both Tommy Mannino and Cory McGillis have asked to be traded and GM Kelly is looking to accommodate them. -------------------------------------------- What is Guelph thinking? It's not even a rebuilding move, considering the two are roughly the same age. I was talking to a Guelph scout at a game and he guaranteed me Card and Girardi will eventually be traded. I'm sure Guelph fans will be hoping for a better return on those two. Charlie_Girl 01-04-2005, 04:49 PM What is Guelph thinking? It's not even a rebuilding move, considering the two are roughly the same age. I was talking to a Guelph scout at a game and he guaranteed me Card and Girardi will eventually be traded. I'm sure Guelph fans will be hoping for a better return on those two. Moving Girardi isn't a bad idea for Guelph - he's an overage Dman, and they should be able to get a couple of younger players. Sounds like there's a fire sale going on over there though. Lessy 01-04-2005, 05:03 PM I'd expect Dennis to be gone as well. SpItFiReZ 01-04-2005, 07:23 PM well today at school.....myself and a few buddies were talking and then Cory Mcgillis got a call on his cell phone.....supposivly he's been traded to the Barrie Colts...for who...it wasnt specified FearTheFlyers 01-04-2005, 08:14 PM well today at school.....myself and a few buddies were talking and then Cory Mcgillis got a call on his cell phone.....supposivly he's been traded to the Barrie Colts...for who...it wasnt specified I heard the same thing, but he apparently was at practice today. Fleuryfan29 01-05-2005, 12:22 AM Today it was rumored in Barrie that Lukas Bolf is headed to London for a draft pick. I guess we won't know until tommorow, I will see if he shows up for practice or not. Also a send out to Lukas Bolf for being a longshot at making the Czech Republic WJC team and showed up to play every day and ended up with a plus +4, and 3 points. Boomhower 01-05-2005, 12:39 AM Today it was rumored in Barrie that Lukas Bolf is headed to London for a draft pick. Also a send out to Lukas Bolf for being a longshot at making the Czech Republic WJC team and showed up to play every day and ended up with a plus +4, and 3 points. I could live with that. I'm not sold on the Knights aquiring a higher profile D-man like Nathan McIver. I think they need a reliable stop gap solution like a Bolf, who won't cost as much. (Two 2nd rounders for McIver, gimme a break) BTW, hows Bolf's skating? The Knights don't have anyone that resembles a burner on the backend, so mobility is something the Hunters should be looking for IMO... if they decide to pick up another D-man. (another reason I'm cold on McIver) Fleuryfan29 01-05-2005, 01:15 AM BTW, hows Bolf's skating? The Knights don't have anyone that resembles a burner on the backend, so mobility is something the Hunters should be looking for IMO... if they decide to pick up another D-man. (another reason I'm cold on McIver) Didn't you watch the World Jr's? His skateing has improved from last year (his rookie year) by at least 80%. He does however need some desprate help with his lateral puck movement. But London would be very lucky to get a D man like him. London Knights 01-05-2005, 03:02 PM The Knights made a move today to bolster the blue line. To London -------------- D Daniel Girardi - overager To Guelph ------------- D Ryan Pottruff F/D Rick Steadman - overager 2nd round pick FearTheFlyers 01-06-2005, 03:02 PM London also trade Shawn Futers to Kingston for a 5th rounder. Devilsfanatic 01-06-2005, 03:48 PM London also trade Shawn Futers to Kingston for a 5th rounder. Wait till it's London acquires Carter from Soo :p: FearTheFlyers 01-06-2005, 05:04 PM Wait till it's London acquires Carter from Soo :p: For Schremp Devilsfanatic 01-06-2005, 09:46 PM For Schremp I was thinking more like......for a defensman, a forward and a pick. FearTheFlyers 01-07-2005, 06:22 AM I was thinking more like......for a defensman, a forward and a pick. Carter I think is going nowhere, Soo have been playing well lately. London Knights 01-07-2005, 07:11 AM Playing well lately??? They are 3-7 and have lost 3 in a row. They are much better than when they started the season, but don't be surprised if they continue to fall if they try and sell him off to a contender. London would seem like a good choice seeing as he is from London, but I question whether the Knights have the resources to make the deal as Mark has already traded away a few younger kids and given up a couple of draft picks so I doubt that he would be willing to give up too much more. Then again, if it comes down to it, that may be something that Carter could ask for, and I would imagine that for all that Jeff has done for his team, that it could be one of those 'favour' deals. I'm not sure whether we actually will see another deal from the Knights, although the trade of Futers makes that a possibility as he was a 19 year old giving them another spot on the team. The defense appears to be set going into the playoffs. Rodney, Syvret, Methot, and Girardi round out the top 4 quite nicely. Whitfield makes a great 3rd pairing crease clearer, and Ferry has played great as a rookie so far. Also what I am hearing is that Frank Rediker could possibly be back for the first round of the playoffs if things go well which gives the Knights 7 capable defensemen. Devilsfanatic 01-07-2005, 07:35 AM Carter I think is going nowhere, Soo have been playing well lately. Regardless, I was trying to bother you, because of your avatar. FearTheFlyers 01-08-2005, 09:14 AM Regardless, I was trying to bother you, because of your avatar. Aha, you see, that is just because I am a Flyer fan. FearTheFlyers 01-08-2005, 09:16 AM UNCONFIRMED BUT DONE To Toronto: Tyler Donati Justin Donati To Oshawa Cal Clutterbuck Pick Source: Mike Futa Boomhower 01-08-2005, 11:50 AM UNCONFIRMED BUT DONE To Toronto: Tyler Donati Justin Donati To Oshawa Cal Clutterbuck Pick Source: Mike Futa Good deal for Oshawa, they get something of decent value for two kids who walked out on them. And having seen them play last night, Oshawa definitely needs the help. I think the Donati's may be too small and frail to be effective playing in 'the box' in Toronto. They need time and space to get their offensive game going and there is never alot of that in St.Mikes arena. Weird stuff, how often do you see two last place teams making deals with each other at the deadline? Lessy 01-08-2005, 12:11 PM I think the Donati's may be too small and frail to be effective playing in 'the box' in Toronto. They need time and space to get their offensive game going and there is never alot of that in St.Mikes arena. That's a good point, I also expect the Donati's to have trouble playing in that little arena. FearTheFlyers 01-08-2005, 02:46 PM Good deal for Oshawa, I like Clutterbuck. Devilsfanatic 01-08-2005, 03:49 PM Aha, you see, that is just because I am a Flyer fan. Well.....nobodies perfect. FearTheFlyers 01-09-2005, 08:19 AM Well.....nobodies perfect. Far from it. FearTheFlyers 01-09-2005, 08:33 PM Tom Mannino has been traded to the Saginaw Spirit for Sean Courtney and a 4th round pick. Lessy 01-10-2005, 01:23 PM To Owen Sound: Chris Rebernik To Toronto: 15th Round 07 To Kingston: Greg Williams, 7th Round 06 To Peterborough: Kyle Raftis To Mississauga: Aaron Barton To Peterborough: 4th Round 05 Lessy 01-10-2005, 01:25 PM With Kingston's dealing of Raftis for a forward, there has been speculation that Anthony Stewart is on his way out of Kingston, possibly to Sudbury or London. The rumoured deal going around was Lamb and a pick for Stewart which makes quite a bit of sense now that Kingston dropped a defensemen for a forward. Only time will tell I guess. Devilsfanatic 01-10-2005, 02:00 PM Stew would be good here flip588 01-10-2005, 02:31 PM Plymouth sent blueliner Craig Cescon and a 5th Rounder in 2005 to the Ice Dogs for Ryan Lee and a 2nd Rounder in 2005. Brampton sent Eric Kemp to the Majors for a conditional 15th rounder as well. trahans99 01-10-2005, 02:51 PM Tom Mannino has been traded to the Saginaw Spirit for Sean Courtney and a 4th round pick. Haha good for Tommy Mannino to go to an even worse team. He wanted out of Windsor, well he got what he asked for. :joker: Boomhower 01-10-2005, 02:59 PM Plymouth sent blueliner Craig Cescon and a 5th Rounder in 2005 to the Ice Dogs for Ryan Lee and a 2nd Rounder in 2005. Brampton sent Eric Kemp to the Majors for a conditional 15th rounder as well. That's a steep price for Cescon, whenever I've watched Plymouth Cescon is rarely ever used. Added toughness I guess, but he's unproven with regrds to handling a lot of minutes. (Don't know much about Lee, refering more to the 2nd rounder) FearTheFlyers 01-10-2005, 03:22 PM To Windsor Paul McFarland 6th round pick Futures To Kitchener Ryan Donally FearTheFlyers 01-10-2005, 03:50 PM To Brampton: Kyle Sonnenburg To Belleville: 5th rounder Charlie_Girl 01-10-2005, 03:55 PM To Windsor Paul McFarland 6th round pick Futures To Kitchener Ryan Donally Windsor will like McFarland..... he gives it everything he has on the ice, and he's a very good PK guy (unfortunately, he doesn't have much else) Boomhower 01-10-2005, 04:37 PM Frrrriiiiiiiittttttttssssssssscccccccchhhhhhhhhhhh hheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Sorry, I'm in a frenzied state, I knew that Girardi deal was a 3-way trade all along. London also got Adam Dennis, they are so stacked it's not even funny! Edit: Hopefully he reports. London mortgages their future a bit giving up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round draft picks, MacDonald isn't much of a loss though. Dizzy 01-10-2005, 05:11 PM Windsor will like McFarland..... he gives it everything he has on the ice, and he's a very good PK guy (unfortunately, he doesn't have much else) Sounds good to me, not like the Spits gave up much in Donally. He may have been the captain but he was severely underachieving this year and with the manager, owner and coach complaining about lack of leadership you had to figure he was on his way out. Hope he can turn things around in Kitchener. As for Mannino, hope he enjoys Saginaw. :lol He won't be missed in Windsor, not even by his linemates. trahans99 01-10-2005, 05:12 PM Frrrriiiiiiiittttttttssssssssscccccccchhhhhhhhhhhh hheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Boomhower 01-10-2005, 05:59 PM Kitchener also got action star Jean-Michel Rizk. But seriously, I've always thought Rizk would eventually break out, he seems like a nice two way player that plays with some jam, so maybe it had something to do with him wallowing in Saginaw. Him and Donnally are both underachieving guys who were originally expected to do big things. Those could be bigger moves than they look like right now. Douggy 01-10-2005, 06:19 PM Whats the deal with Adam Dennis? Is he going to be the number one, or are they going to screw them around like they did with Coleman and MacD? Charlie_Girl 01-10-2005, 06:39 PM Kitchener also got action star Jean-Michel Rizk. Your lips to God's ears pal! :D Deboer has a knack at getting the very best out of guys who are doing nothing elsewhere (O'Nabigon, Clarkson, Halkidis to name a few), so it's a possibility. If i'm a Knights fan, i'm not that thrilled. 1.Fritsche is made of absolute glass, and has shown no dsesire to play in the OHL this year. 2. Dennis has never played well against Owen Sound , and I think he's overrated. Boomhower 01-10-2005, 10:13 PM 1.Fritsche is made of absolute glass, and has shown no dsesire to play in the OHL this year. Did you watch any of the WJC's? He's healthy now and until he's out, he makes London incredibly stronger. 2. Dennis has never played well against Owen Sound , and I think he's overrated. He's alot better than MacDonald and an OHL title says he's very underrated, besides the Knights have two great goalies. They were smart and didn't put all their eggs in one basket. Devilsfanatic 01-11-2005, 06:04 AM I would have preferred getting Carter, but meh, what can you do. trahans99 01-11-2005, 06:52 AM I would have preferred getting Carter, but meh, what can you do. Same here, but Fritsche was a good 2nd choice and the Soo probably wanted to much for Carter. leafaholix* 01-11-2005, 08:31 AM Windsor will like McFarland..... he gives it everything he has on the ice, and he's a very good PK guy (unfortunately, he doesn't have much else) I went to school with McFarland.
