Oh wait, they're not putting any games on TV. barrytrotzsneck 01-02-2005, 07:10 PM They aren't even puting the USA vs Russia game on t.v. Thats a shame :shakehead it's tape delayed. but yeah, i have heard that TSN likes to go to bed with networks of the same gender. There's a pretty hot rumor about TSN and Sportsnet trying to get married in the States, but being rejected. Steadfast 01-02-2005, 07:11 PM I'll be watching it on RDS. :handclap: I guess that $2 a month or whatever it is WILL be put to use this year even without the Habs playing. barrytrotzsneck 01-02-2005, 07:12 PM Check ESPN. Oh wait, they're not putting any games on TV. Hm, nope...it's on ESPN tonight! :yo: LPHabsFan 01-02-2005, 07:12 PM Check ESPN. Oh wait, they're not putting any games on TV. they're showing tonights game because the U.S. is in it. otherwise they wouldn't. As for the gold medal game, i think they are showing it but im not 100% sure. As for the U.S. - Russia Semi-Final, in canada it's being shown on RDS so if you have it, watch it. Bloody Sabbath 01-02-2005, 07:15 PM Are they really? I was in the states the past week and didn't catch a single game on ESPN...had to listen online. They showed flag football :lol . ESPN blows. missK 01-02-2005, 07:16 PM Are they really? I was in the states the past week and didn't catch a single game on ESPN...had to listen online. They showed flag football :lol . ESPN blows. All the USA games, except for the USA/Czech game, have been shown on ESPN2, either live or tape delay. Bloody Sabbath 01-02-2005, 07:18 PM All the USA games, except for the USA/Czech game, have been shown on ESPN2, either live or tape delay. True. I was looking for the Canada games though. flip588 01-02-2005, 07:19 PM it's tape delayed. but yeah, i have heard that TSN likes to go to bed with networks of the same gender. There's a pretty hot rumor about TSN and Sportsnet trying to get married in the States, but being rejected. That is some funny stuff! SENSfreak_03 01-02-2005, 07:21 PM They aren't even puting the USA vs Russia game on t.v. Thats a shame :shakehead prior commitments to the nfl, what can you do. ranold26 01-02-2005, 07:25 PM I added RDS for a month, just to get this game. Kitsune 01-02-2005, 07:45 PM the reason why the USA-Russia game isnt being shown on TSN is because of Sunday Night (NFL) Football. TSN paid big bucks to get the Canadian Rights for the game, not to mention advertising rights where purchased way in advance for this game, thus they couldnt show the hockey game if they wanted. SwisshockeyAcademy 01-02-2005, 07:47 PM the reason why the USA-Russia game isnt being shown on TSN is because of Sunday Night (NFL) Football. TSN paid big bucks to get the Canadian Rights for the game, not to mention advertising rights where purchased way in advance for this game, thus they couldnt show the hockey game if they wanted. Correct and i'm fine with that. What TSN should be doing is showing the game on the NHL Network live- why the hell not? Then show the taped delay version on TSN overnight and tomorrow afternoon. incawg 01-02-2005, 07:50 PM I added RDS for a month, just to get this game. I just finished doing the same thing. TML 01-02-2005, 07:58 PM The game isn't on TSN tonight? salostyle 01-02-2005, 08:04 PM Dan "The Tool" just showed Canada highlights during Sportscentre Update and then said the US-Russia game is tomorrow night... :lol Wow...TSN isn't even aware they dropped the ball on this one...could you imagine the outrage if Canada was playing in the night game...they would have had to reclose the highway cuz a herd of "monsters" would have been coming south to rain on TSN's parade!!! BAuldie 01-02-2005, 08:21 PM Why does there have to be so many threads on this? Its stupid.. they had prior commitments that they can't break.. an NFL game will get better ratings than a US - Russia WJC game... Boomhower 01-02-2005, 08:21 PM Wow...TSN isn't even aware they dropped the ball on this one.. Considering TSN is covering the game, I'm pretty sure they didn't drop anything. It will be shown tommorow night, because (as mentioned) they have a commitment to show Sunday Night Football, like they have every other Sunday since September. I'm kind of dissapointed that the NHL Network isn't showing this game live, since they're owned by the same people as TSN and often use their telecasts. Instead they're Showing Boston University vs. Minnesota right now. Alfie#11 01-02-2005, 08:24 PM Why does there have to be so many threads on this? Its stupid.. they had prior commitments that they can't break.. an NFL game will get better ratings than a US - Russia WJC game... Exactly. People on these boards have to realize that they may have a far greater interest in this game than the general sports viewer. They will be showing the game on Monday - in prime time! It's not like they are ignoring it. Sparepart 01-02-2005, 08:30 PM I'm not really sure that a meaningless Sunday night football game will get higher ratings then the US/Russia game. If the NFL game tonight had any playoff significance, then yes it would probably get higher ratings, but it has no significance. I actually think that tomorrows RAW (which is being bumped by US/Russia) would have gotten higher ratings then tonights Sunday night football game. Oh well, not my problem... I have RDS. Freezerburn 01-02-2005, 08:36 PM I'll be watching it on RDS. :handclap: I guess that $2 a month or whatever it is WILL be put to use this year even without the Habs playing. It's on RDS eh? *checks guide* Hey, I have that channel. I can dig the french for this game, just have to dust off some of my basic grade 9 french comprehension skills. Is the game radio broadcast over the web? If so I'll just mute the tv and turn my speaker volume up. Crosbyfan 01-02-2005, 08:49 PM It's on RDS eh? *checks guide* Hey, I have that channel. January is "Free Preview" month, at least for Shaw. It might be worth going to RDS whether you subscribe or not - it might be there anyway. Has anyone who doesn't get RDS tried it yet? Freezerburn 01-02-2005, 09:03 PM Hey, for those who have digital cable... January is "Free Preview" month, at least for Shaw. It might be worth going to RDS whether you subscribe or not - it might be there anyway. Has anyone who doesn't get RDS tried it yet? It is the free preview month with Bell Expressvu as well, which is why I am enjoying this game right now. And as for my muting idea, it doesn't work because the internet feeds are slightly delayed and do not sycronize att all with the RDS broadcast. Boomhower 01-02-2005, 09:03 PM Roger's digital cable is doing the free preview mounth aswell, but for some reason RDS is the ONLY channel without a free preview. :banghead: Sparepart 01-02-2005, 09:24 PM It is the free preview month with Bell Expressvu as well, which is why I am enjoying this game right now. Watching Habs games on french tv over the past 10+ years is how I learned most of the french I know today. PanthersRule96 01-02-2005, 09:30 PM Man, TSN really has to come up with TSN2. BTW, the only way ESPN is gonna show the gold medal game is if USA wins. If not, I don't think anyone in the States shows it. I don't think ESPN2 does and ESPN does not. BTW, if any network is attracted to other networks of the same gender, it's ESPN and ESPN2 when it comes to hockey. :teach: littleHossa 01-02-2005, 09:54 PM They have the game live on RDS? Wow, I'm outta here! Freezerburn 01-02-2005, 09:54 PM Try listening to it in French, it wont kill you. Watching Habs games on french tv over the past 10+ years is how I learned most of the french I know today. I am watching it in French, it doesn't really bother me I would just prefer to have it in English is all. I used to watch Habs/Sabres games on ch 54 (thats the french CBC) before I had satellite so I am used to it somewhat. littleD 01-02-2005, 10:40 PM What's TSN happy about? Why do people use the word gay to mean bad or stupid? :dunno: CanoeRider 01-03-2005, 03:42 AM Why does there have to be so many threads on this? Its stupid.. they had prior commitments that they can't break.. an NFL game will get better ratings than a US - Russia WJC game... not in Canada, maybe in the States BobMckenzie 01-03-2005, 03:54 AM but yeah, i have heard that TSN likes to go to bed with networks of the same gender. There's a pretty hot rumor about TSN and Sportsnet trying to get married in the States, but being rejected. TSN and Sportsnet making whoopee? Never, unless you count the joint bid submitted for the Vancouver Olympics...not that there's anything wrong with it... :innocent: Epsilon 01-03-2005, 03:56 AM not in Canada, maybe in the States I think you'd be surprised. There are a lot of Dallas Cowboys fans in Canada, and a lot of people who follow NHL football in general. As for "maybe" in the States? Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants will probably outdraw any hockey game of the year in the USA. BCCHL inactive 01-03-2005, 03:59 AM not in Canada, maybe in the States Like it or not, the NFL is huge in Canada...and in non-CFL cities, it is much more popular than the CFL. I work in sports retail, and even with the NHL playing, NFL merchandise can outsell NHL merchandise any day of the week. Don't even ask me about the CFL here in Prince George. It would take us the entire CFL season to sell 10 BC Lions jerseys. Sunday Night Football on the last week of the regular season will draw a much larger Canadian audience than a USA vs. Russia World U20 semi-final game. oilers_guy_eddie 01-03-2005, 11:02 AM With the controversy at the end of the game, extra viewers might tune in just to see what all the fuss was about. | ||
