Where did/do you go to school and what did/do you take?
- I'm in Third Year at the University of Western Ontario majoring in Computer Science and Minoring in Software Engineering

Where do you work?
- I work part time doing Customer Support at the largest employer in the City I live in... I'm pretty much the lackey, installing new computers, printers, software, etc.

What certifications do you have?
- None. :(

What programming languages do you know?
- C/C++, Java, HTML (if you count it), SPARC Assembly Language and I've worked in the past with Delphi, Visual Basic, Turbo Pascal, Javascript and Flash.

What O/S(s) are you running?
- Dual Boot with Windows XP Pro and SUSE 9.1 Pro

- Pentium 4 1.6 GHz, 768 MB RAM, 256 MB Radeon 9600 pro, 80 GB Hard Drive

I'm a Junior at East Stroudsburg University (of PA), Computer Science

Where do you work?
Some apartment building in Allentown, I do the dirty work. Nothing computer related, which is why I likes it.

What certifications do you have?
None. These are a joke anyway. They won't help me with my target field, either.

What programming languages do you know?
C/C++, Java, Fortran 90, COBOL, Perl, Some python, A little Ruby, x86 ASM (and I've done some with x86_64), PHP, VB (but I hate it), Haskell, LISP, and some others I can't remember. I don't count markup to be programming.

What O/S(s) are you running?
Gentoo Linux (no dual-boot here, I'm a dev for them with no spare room for Windows :))

* One hp ze4427wm (wm = walmart :-D) laptop; Athlon XP-M 2200+, 192MB Ram, 30gb hdd etc. Nothing fancy
* Home-built: Athlon 64 2800+, 512mb PC2700, 120gb SATA, Radeon AIW 8500, CD-RW/DVD-R Drive, DVD-/+RW drive

I'm no computer geek. Asides from having 3 message boards, I really don't qualify for geek status in any computer area. Instead wargaming vaults me ahead of each and every one of you in geek status.

Over $1500 spent on models, paints, brushes etc.
Own over 5000 points of Warhammer.
Game at least 30 times a year in 4-6 hour sessions.
Have attended Games Day each of the past three years in Toronto, will be attending in both Toronto and Chicago this year.

My employer thinks they are highly valuable. I see these arguments all over the place, but I really don't care. As long as it satisfies my people.

I started using computers before there were monitors. Input/Output was done on teletype. We wrote our programs in fortran or basic on punch cards. :lol

I don't know diddley about computers...but I do remember the key punch cards too .

You may win! My co-worker recently got into Warhammer after years of Mechwarrior (i think) -- he talks to me about it all the time -- sounds cool.

Do not let him talk you into that. I lost a friend to Warhammer.

At first he was just buying a few pieces for fun. He dabbled. Then, he started getting involved with the wrong crowd. These people were so far into Warhammer that he started spending all his money to keep up. He sold most everything he owned to buy paint sets. He'd spend hours applying decals just right and flipping through catalogues trying to find his next fix. After a few monhts, I didn't recognize him. He would only talk about Warhammer. His whole life became playing Warhammer and more importantly about adding to his collection.

Don't do it. If you want to throw away all your money and free time, start doing coke. At least then you'll have a chance of meeting some women willing to do things to share your coke.
