Colliton hurt

If it's serious, can Canada still bring someone in before finalizing their roster on Xmas eve?? I've heard it's a lower body injury and he won't play tomorrow night and Corey Perry will take his place on the line with Crosby and Bergeron.

Also, has anyone heard anything new on Brent Seabrook? I know last week(Friday perhaps) that he said he could play tomorrow if he had to, but the other night Pierre said he still looked pretty sore.

Hmm that's a shame.

I'm not sure on this one, But I think the rosters do not have to be finalized until the first game against Slovakia, so if Colliton has an injury which will keep him out of this tournament, Sutter could make the call for someone else.

As for Seabrook, I personally don't think its looking good. I mean it's the 23rd, we are two days away from the opening. They have to make a decision on him. Now I love Seabrook, he's one of my favourite defenseman on this team, but this defense has looked great even without him, and if hes injured and can't play, he's got to be let loose.

Wouldn't that be funny if they brought in Horton to replace him :lol

LOL thanks man. I've totally lost track of the days since I've gone to University. Everything just blurs together.

Haha, that is so true, I have the same problem.

In regards to Colliton, has anyone heard anything for sure? Been looking around and can't find anything. However I noticed during the Finlad game him limping to the bench one shift during the third. Hopefully he's alright, however if he can't go, we still have great depth on the team to fill in. I mean he's out, we got Perry (13th forward) in, this Canadian team is scary.

I'm sure I read this somewhere, either the Ottawa Citizen or the National Post. Maybe someone can confirm...

Rosters actually don't have to be finalized until the tournament reaches the semi-final. But, in Canada's case, if Seabrook isn't ready on Saturday, and if they dress 7 d-man against Slovakia, then Seabrook can't play. The article suggested Canada might dress only 6 defencemen if Seabrook wasn't ready, but I think they should just move on if he isn't.

I would like Stefan Meyer to come in and replace him if he's hurt. Forget about Horton, I think he's hurt anyways and he wasn't at the camp.

IMO, if there will be a replacement it will be Stone or Bolland.

Bolland is closer to Colliton's type of game that Stone is, that's 100% for sure. If I was Eric Fehr and I didn't get the call after Colliton went down(if he actually does), I'd be fuming.

Well, I think Fehr will be fuming because they are more likely to bring in a defensive/grinder type player to replace Colliton.

Have to disagree. I believe Stone and Colliton are extremely similar players. Both like to get there noses dirty and play extremely physical, both use their large bodies to protect the puck and create room for themselves and their teammates, both are good playmakers and have a decent scoring touch and both bring intangibles to the game such as shot blocking, finishing every check, good hocey sense etc. The only distinct difference is that Colliton is right handed and Stone is left handed which could play into Sutter's decision if it came down to that. Colliton may have the edge in skating ability but that is up for debate. From what I have seen of Bolland he looks to be a really skilled player, but I have only seen him play 4 times and only twice live (at the summer camp in Calgary) so I could be wrong.
