This guy is racking up points, and could see himself as a top 6 forward on the WJC team. Has anyone here seen him play? What could he be, talent level, work ethic etc... Thanks!

At least then we'll know what type of player he is. BDubinskyNYR17* 12-19-2004, 12:51 PM I'm going to evaluate him based on what I see when some of the Team USA games are on ESPN2. This is from what I have read, but once I see him play, then I will see if this comparison is accuarate. I was pretty much going to ask if anybody has seen him play as well. But the info I DO have is that he is on the TOP LINE as of right now for the WJs. That info is from people who are watching the training and on ice practices that they are holding...so it not a definite that he will be on the 1st line come the big games..but it is very possible. NYR469 12-19-2004, 04:50 PM the most flattering comparision i've heard for callahan is geoff sanderson. but i haven't gotten to see him yet Fletch 12-19-2004, 06:01 PM his point-per-game pace is off last season's and when he was drafted, he was 19 years old and thus a bit older (by about a year) than other draftees. I'd hope to see bigger numbers out of him, but perhaps it all about the numbers. allrevvedup25 12-20-2004, 06:42 AM I've seen him on TV in a game versus London. In the 3rd period, his line (I can't remember who he plays with) always had pressure in London's end. I like his grit and heart. He is a goodie and NYR fans will love seeing him in Ranger blue in a few years. Levitate 12-20-2004, 06:48 AM so what does everyone think his upside is? going completely off of what i've heard about him...maybe a gritty second liner who will score 60 points and bring a good game every night... seems like he's skilled, though his slight drop in production is a little annoying...hard to tell if he's "just not that good" or there are other reasons. but it's always kind of hard to forcast NHL success based on junior level success. might be safer to see him as a 3rd liner who can put up a few points...but i guess like i said i was going for "upside" storm fan 12-20-2004, 08:30 PM Callahan's points aren't what they were last year so far because there are l4 rookies on the team and he really has no one to work with.
