Johnstown Chiefs. I think they were originally called the Jets back in the old NAHL, but when they were revived in the ECHL in '88, they were renamed the Chiefs as a tribute to Slap Shot.
Which player holds the NHL record for most shorthanded goals scored in one game? How many goals?
*hint: he was a one-time Ranger, although he did not accomplish the feat as a Ranger.
nyr5186 12-20-2004, 08:28 PM BUMP!
Here's another hint: His last name starts with F and ends with Leury.
Who's Fitzleury?
How about this one: back in '88, what player scored one goal of each type (even-strength, powerplay, short-handed, penalty shot, and empty-netter) and against what team?
noodlemike 12-20-2004, 09:58 PM Mario Lemieux?

Before Mark Messier came to the Rangers in 1991, which player before him wore #11?
EventHorizon 12-20-2004, 11:02 PM Adam Graves. (For one pre-season game or something like that).
What was the first team to move from Canada to America?

Adam Graves. (For one pre-season game or something like that).

It's perhaps a trick question. The actual first team might be considered the Hamilton "Tigers" who were sold as a team (in terms of players) to what became the New York Americans.
A few years later, the orginal Ottawa Senators became the St Louis Eagles for one season before suspending operations for good.
Mario. Against the Icelanders?
Sorry, I meant to check the board earlier. Mario is right. Icelanders is wrong.
...and while we're on the topic, why is it the Icelanders? Don't you think that's a little unfair? I like Iceland.

I always thought it was against the Rangers...half the "bad" records in the league seem to be against them ;)

It'd make sense also in that Mario was a big-time Ranger-killer. I think he did score 5 against us once.
Fortunately this is one record that does not go against the Blueshirts.
