FLYLine88 12-16-2004, 04:48 PM Does anybody think he will be on the Rangers roster whenever hockey starts again? I though he played a solid game for the few games he played with us when we got him off waivers. I know he playing overseas somewhere and hes only 25. I think he could be a good 3rd or 4th liner.
Since im on the topic of Green....what happened to Josh? He look VERY good in a Ranger uniform in his second stint with us when we also claimed him off waivers...i thought he could maybe be a 2nd or 3rd liner player the way he was going....giving 110% every game..he knew that he had to change his attitude if he wanted to stay in the NHL(got bumped around to different teams often) and that is what he did.

Josh Green signed with Manitoba Moose. Im glad it free up a spot for the kids.

That was an AHL contract, it has nothing to do with his NHL status, which is unrestricted--he can sign with any team once there is a season to sign for.

Mike Green was given a qualifying contract so he remains Ranger property. Although if I remember correctly he doesn't have an out in his European contract, so he won't be returning for "this" season. And as far as I'm concerned, he can stay wherever he is now. I have nothing against him, but there are several players already in the system who can fill his role right now or whenever there is a season. I'd rather root for one of them.
As for Josh Green, he did look impressive during his short run here last seaon. But, he's shown flashes throughout his career and never made the next step and become consistant over long stretches. If there is a need for a player like him, then he's cetainly someone I would consider signing, but would have to take a look at who else is available first.
BDubinskyNYR17* 12-16-2004, 10:31 PM I hope we sign Rucinsky and McAmmond. Although McAmmond has AHL contract, Sather knows him well. And he is fast and is LW and can help our pk.

Mike Green is playing for Nurnberg in the German league...

Josh Green is worth a contract. I thought that he changed his game dramatically since the last time he was with us. He looked more like the player he was suppose to be when he got drafted. He has size and decent speed and uses the body, plus he's a left winger.

Do I remember correctly that he doesn't have an "out" clause? Not that it really matters at this point.

I'm not sure that I ever received a report one way or another on his contract. I know Jan Hlavac doesn't have an out clause :)

I don't know what he has been like lately but his shoulder problems would worry me.

I'm not much of a Josh Green fan...but that aside, he has played both wings during his NHL career...not surprising considering he's mostly been a 3rd/4th liner or AHL call-up.

I would be much more worried about Betts shoulder then Greens.
Levitate 12-17-2004, 04:38 PM what worries me about josh green is that he's bounced around a lot and hasn't played well consistantly. he did look good and play real hard with the rangers at the end of last year...big guy, good speed, good enough hands to score some goals...but i'd definatly worry that he'd bring it over the whole season
