Bill Clement says that he thinks that both sides are greedy and there are all kinds of egos involved...but that both sides have smart people on them and they realize that no hockey this season could kill the sport. he said something along the lines of it's a $2.1 billion industry, if this season is killed, then it becomes a $1.6 billion industry, if the league gets replacement players, it becomes a $0.6 billion dollar industry

owners "eat their young", cannabalized the sport, they created this problem

players say "why help you fix it?" but players have to be responsible for their roles and be part of the solution

if either side "wins" this, then that basically means the league is screwed because of what the cost of "winning" will be. cuz if you "win the war", you kill the other side and hockey can't survive without both sides. so there has to be a compromise.

said Bill Daly praised the NHLPA for their offer yesterday and that's a good sign since it is a positive comment by one side to the other.

in the end, he thinks there will be a shortened season starting in february because he thinks both sides know the stakes...if the whole season is wiped out then the NHL is going to be in serious trouble

that was essentially it

what, after he ***** all over it in a memo? Too late for praise, it's already known how he really feels, or did jackass Clement not get the memo?

i'm not exactly sure what Daly is supposed to have said...i think Clement meant more like Daly praised the NHLPA for putting forth a serious offer. which is still off compared to what the memo said...but these people are apparently crazy so who knows
