Could someone who has seen him play this year please tell me if his average stats tell the whole story or is he just playing average so far.
Has his mobility improved at all? Puckhandling?
Thanks in advance. :)

i have seen Schwarz play and he is a good goatender, somepeople may disagree with me by that, but he has played like every single game this year for the giants so he is tired and obviously his stats are going to reflect that.

He is out of position way too much. You can tell he has good agility and flexability, but he gets caught out all the time. He doesn't seem to be able to find rebounds and honestly has been outplayed in almost every game. Right now his team is playing quite well and he always makes you wonder if they'll win. About being tired, the Giants just had five days off and had four off last week, so he shouldn't be fatigued.

I have only seen Schwartz one time and it was exibition and he looked very average. But he is 19th in stats and with a .883 save percentage, that isn't good for a first rounder.

Schwarz has tons of potential, and is very agile. However like someone else pointed he is caught out of position often, and he seems to let in soft goals (more so recently). He was definitely fatigued the past few weeks but he has gotten plenty of rest and it is the same old story. I feel he will only continue to get better but he does need to work on parts of his game.

I think Adam Jennings should finish the season for the Giants. Schwarz has been bad since the start.

Schwarz has been just fine. He was playing a ton of games and was extremely fatigued. Since picking up Jennings he has gotten a break and came back and played strong.
I like Jennings and now that the Giants have another goalie they have confidence in, I'm sure Schwarz will sit a few more games on the bench. But Schwarz should and still will be the starter.

The save percentage is completely misleading. The shot counters at the Coliseum are on drugs or something. If you see the final shots as something like 30-20 Giants, it was probably 35-30 for the other team. No exaggeration. I'd like to see his home and road save percentages.
Still, Schwarz has not been as good as I had hoped. Right before he aggravated his back injury he was starting to play really well (demonstrated by his CHL goalie of the week award), but over all he's only been good, not great like I expected. That said, he HAS been good, and his numbers are misleading. The addition of Jennings seems to have helped his game as well.
Top 5 or 10 goalies in the WHL for sure, and probably #1 in terms of natural athleticism and quickness.

If he was "extremely fatigued" that would make Don Hay a bad coach for not spotting the back up goalie?

Don't use the shot counters excuse, every team thinks there is too many shots that count. Schwartz has been average at best.

Maybe in some peoples opinion. But the fact was the Giants didn't have a legit back up goalie and even a fatigued Schwarz gave the Giants a better opportunity to win than playing their back up goalie. So until Jennings came aboard, Hay was forced to play Schwarz, fatigued or not.
