Even as a cross town rival I always enjoyed watching Sawyer. He would take on anyone. Is he done forever? I assume so but wasnt sure if there was a link about him

Yeah, he's done.

He's in the woods somewhere with his wife and new son.

There was an article in the OC Register in March about Sawyer and Andy McDonald keeping in touch. (They were best friends on the team)

mentioned he might go into broadcasting, that he emails Andy McDonald pictures of his son regularly, also said how he was really depressed without hockey but the birth of his son brought him out of that.

Kevin was a good guy. The team could have used him last season, they needed something to get them going.

Note that he declined a contract from the Flames because he didn't feel well after the concussion he got from the Brennan-Norton beatings.

On the other side we gave away a punching bag just to earn another: Garrett Burnett.

Sawyer>>>>>Burnett... Actually, a PK is almost > than Burnett. Sawyer never used his enforcer role wildly out of control the way Burnett does.

yeah I remember him running Potvin, that was unnecessary.

He did the right thing when he ran Mike Vernon of Calgary. You can't let some idiot like Berube throw a blatant hit and punches at Giguere without retaliating.

That was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen... record for PIMs in one game, many suspensions, brawl-faceoff-brawl-faceoff-brawl, Salei headbutt, Friesen pummeled, 45 minutes to end the last three minutes of the game... AH HOCKEY! :yo:

Sawyer and Lambert might have been funner to watch then Kariya/Sellane

Not a chance my fight lover. Two of the most famous punching bags of all times are not very funny to watch if you cheer for them.
Talk about Probert and Kocur maybe... :yo:

Depression is pretty common with post-concussion syndrome/brain injury.

How about the game when Modano got hurt? Payback for cheapshoting Selanne the year before. The Ducks earned a reputation for gooning it up that year with Hartsy on the bench.

:shakehead Salei actually meant for Modano to fling about and spin into the boards headfirst?
