Who was the better Devils forward, the clubs all-time leader in points and goals, or the one of the clubs most clutch forwards and possible future all-time leader in points?

No offense to Johnny Mac but I believe Elias is better. Mac was more physical..although elias does finish a lot of checks..but Elias has so much raw talent and is very underrated defensivley. Elias playing in the late 80's early 90's would really be a site to see with his creativity. Imagine him and gomez together in open fast pace hockey? Wow.

Just for the Record.........

John Maclean is currently in the top 100 All time NHL scorers........May not last long but currently John is 97th out of 100 ALL-TIME.

***************************************

97 John MacLean (1983-2002) 842
98 Peter Bondra (1990-2004) 839
99 John Tonelli (1978-1992) 836
100 Jacques Lemaire (1967-1979) 835

And to think of the NJ teams Mac played for from 83 to 91 makes it even more impressive regarless of whether he played in the 80's or not. During that time the Devils only had 2 years above .500 and both were barely over .500 with a .512 and a .519

don't forget that if it wasnt for John missing a whole season (91-92) his career totals would have been a lot better. Thanks again to that no-talented slug Brad Dalgarno for falling on Johns Knee in a pre-season game!

For right now I would have to say Johnny Mac. Eventually Elias should pass that record and have more goals... Elias is still too young to determine if he is better than Johnny Mac...
