DELMAR -- After his team scored two goals in their last three games, Albany River Rats coach Robbie Ftorek decided they needed some rest and a new look.

They finally got a few days off after a demanding season-opening schedule, and tonight they'll be skating with some different offensive combinations that includes a line featuring the team's top three scorers.

Rookie Zach Parise will center for first-year forward Aaron Voros and second-year pro Aleksander Suglobov in hopes of generating more offense. Between them, the three youngsters have accounted for 12 of the team's 26 goals and 14 assists.

"We're throwing Zach in the middle with me and (Suglobov)," Voros said. "I guess they're trying to spark the offense - I'm just excited, there's a lot of firepower on that line now - our three leading scorers."
Voros competed in nine game last season for the Rats after leaving University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The 23-year-old has registered at least one point in all but three games this season.
"We've got to communicate now and hopefully we can click this weekend after a good week of practice. We're working hard," Voros said. "It's a young line, so we're definitely going to have a little bit of growing pains. We just have to be responsible defensively and I think offensively, that will take care of itself."

I guess Ftorek has been playing NHL 2005: GRN-PLY-SCO

"They've got great speed," Ftorek said. "One guy likes to go to the net (Voros), one guy likes to play-make (Parise), and the other guy likes to shoot (Suglobov). They have all the ingredients. It's just a case of making sure they do it on both ends of the ice."
