I think I can speak for the majority of regulars on this board when I say we like him very much and are very excited about his future as an NHLer. His first few months as an NHL player were rough at best, he looked lost, got overpowered and didn't provide much of a scoring threat from the blueline. HOWEVER, it seemed like all of the sudden he just pushed a button and became the player that so many had raved about in college. Smooth skating, smate defense, crisp outlet passes, PP threat, fun to watch. He quickly went from being my favorite whipping boy, to one of my favorite Devils. He looked pretty good in the playoffs as well, he would have scored a critical goal in game 5 vs the Flyers but Jeff Friesen had a penalty on the play and the goal didn't count. He was impressive in the World Cup for Team USA once he got inserted into the line-up. I know lots of Devils fans see a young Scott Niedermayer in terms of style of play and hopefully raw talent. It's odd that he only signed a contract until December... He's only gonna play for a month or two?? He must think the lock-out is gonna end. He's in the minority with that opinion.

Hi Math

thank you for the answer.

In Switzerland there are 4 foreigners allowed in a game. Fribourg Gottéron foreigners are: Thomas Rhodin (one of the best european defender, topscorer of the defender in the Swedish league 02/03), Mikael karlberg (topscorer of the swedish league 02/03), Jukka Hentunen (played in Nashville and Calgary for some games, member of the WCH2004 finnish team) and finally Richard Lintner (slovakian national player who made around 100 NHL games for the Rangers, Nashville.....)

Now Karlberg is injured, and he will be replaced by Jukka Tiilikainen (he's not good....), but Karlberg will return after the weekend.
And our Defender Lintner is injured for the whole year. In January he will come back. And because our club hasn't much money, we want only 4 foreigners in the team.
Before they get Martin, another candidate was Bryan Berard....
