"THAT'S GOTTA HURT!: The Ducks experienced some big injuries this past weekend in the two-game series against Rochester. Center Alexei Smirnov (separated shoulder), left wing Chris Kunitz (broken jaw), and center Tim Brent (ankle) are each sidelined indefinitely. All three players held key offensive roles for the Ducks and the team will be looking to fill those roles. “Anytime you lose a guy, its an opportunity for someone else. There’s a lot of minutes that will have to be taken by guys, so it’s a big challenge for us,” explained Shaw. “This weekend will be a big test for us.”

Konopka was taking on a Giant, not sure if it was him or the other but one of them got slammed into the glass during the fight.

Oconnor and Gratton both landed some huge rights apparently. But it was a really short fight, I give the edge to Gratton.

Any descriptions of the fights? Thanks.

Konopka was agitating , instigated a fight vs the experienced NHL enforcer Fedoruk. Fedoruk landed some quality punches to finish the fight.

O'Connor and Gratton was closer to a draw, decision to Gratton though.

There was also a 5 on 5 pile up but I don't think any real punches were landed.

I like this quote: (Zenon :yo: )

“Once you start winning, its like a disease and you don’t want to lose again.” - Ducks center Zenon Konopka.

Can we get some players with this attitude on the NHL Ducks after the lockout?
The 03/04 team lacked passion.

Thanks,

1-Glad to know Konopka wasn't fighting for the heck of it but instead was sticking up for a teammate, O'Connor wanted a piece of Fedoruk as well. Look at Chistov with the long hair watching the fight. :joker:

2-O'Connor loses the fight as soon as the other guys jersey comes off and his arm is free to punch.
