chris_dub 11-01-2004, 10:38 PM Which team is the biggest surprise (in terms of record) in the NFL at midway of the season?
Now I could obviously only put 14 teams on here, so I just went with the ones that are overachieving, underachieving or exceeding expectations. Or whatever. So if I left out a team which is surprising you the most this season, vote 'Other' & let us know who it is.
Midnight Meat Train 11-01-2004, 10:50 PM The Chargers have been much improved even though their roster isnt much different from last year

Rebuilding is finally paying off. Brees is having a Pro Bowl caliber season and Gates is emerging as a challenger to Tony G as the best TE in football.
The young D, in particular the D line has also greatly improved.
Anthony 11-01-2004, 11:24 PM uh
where are the giants
Big McLargehuge 11-01-2004, 11:27 PM In order...
1. San Diego- This was supposed to be the worst team in the league(well, second worse with all that's happened with Miami)
2. New York- Wasn't San Diego have 2 top 5 picks in the draft thanks to that stupid Manning trade?
3. Pittsburgh- Not because of them winning, but how they're winning.
4. Carolina- Injuries can be a *****.
5. Atlanta- Worst 6-2 team ever? Maybe...but they're still 6-2
The Sports Gorilla 11-01-2004, 11:33 PM I guess you can't say San Diego isn't the surprise team of the year, but there is still a lot of games to play.
For me, I really thought Tenessee was going to be a contender this year, especially after the way they played down the stretch last season. Where did all the people go that were calling McNair the best QB in the NFL?
San Diego, unfortunately. They are now tied for 1st with the Broncos. I thought they'd be dead last in our division.
Anthony 11-01-2004, 11:36 PM the titans are in cap hell
how did you ever think that they would be good this year
Big McLargehuge 11-01-2004, 11:38 PM Yeah, Titans are reeling from the troubles of being good for too long in the NFL.
Doesn't help McNair has been injured.

**Off-topic: I pray the NHL avoids crap like that.
Evilo 11-02-2004, 01:03 AM I'm surprised the Bucs are THIS bad.

go kim johnsson 514 11-02-2004, 05:52 AM The Chargers, while I thought they would be around 7-9, I thought they could be this good because they're not in a great division.
ObeySteve 11-02-2004, 07:58 AM Other: The Seahawks barely over .500. I predicted them to have a bye this season.

I guess I didn't pay much attention to their moves this off-season.
Who did they lose other than the two DE's?
guinness 11-02-2004, 09:33 AM Lions: I really expected them to stink up the joint, but they've managed to break the road winless streak. I still think they might hit a dry spell though soon, way too inconsistent.
Chargers and Giants are other big suprises. Miami isn't (no R. Williams, no offense), GB is in between, I expected them to be better than they are, but they are playing better of late. Dallas overachieved last year, this year they settled back to Earth.
