How about Kevin Nastiuk in net??? I would say he is heads above any goalie right now in the WHL.

I would take off Boyd and add Brule......

Looks like maybe this is a bit of a evaluation for the World Junior team.... That is the only real idea I get from looking over the roster.....

He didn't attend the summer camp because he was playing in the under 18's.

He didn't attend the summer camp because he was playing in the under 18's.

Andrew Ladd wasn't there either, albeit due to injury, and Dubnyk and Nastiuk were there, but are not on the WHL team, which is VERY strange considering the start Nastiuk has had. Also, Brule very likely would have been at the summer camp if not for the Under 18s, which seems to me to be even more reason to include him on the WHL team.

You must be right, they must be just taking everyone from the summer camp (it certainly appears that way), but if they are, it really doesn't make sense to me.

From the WHL website:

All 23 players currently named to Team WHL attended Canada’s National Junior Team Evaluation Camp in August.

Additional players will be added to Team WHL roster in mid-November.

Isn't Keller an overager? If so, he is too old for the team.

Actually if there is a Blade that deserves a chance and isn't an overager would be Wacey Rabbit. Sits second in league scoring with 16 points in 10 games.

Please note from the sounds of things, the WHL is going to ice two teams.

http://chl.ca/CHLNews0405/1022.html

The WHL had 25 players in the Summer Evaluation Camp and will utilize a split squad of players for the Canada-Russia Challenge. The additional players will be announced in November.

So which six D men do you take?

Barker
Phaneuf
Weber
Coburn
Green
?

That would be my top five. Not sure who to take at six.

That would really suck. Why would you pick 65 guys only to sit a few so some of them can play twice?

I'm surprised not to see Kris Versteeg on the WHL's team as he has been having an excellent season. Also thought David Krejci would have made the Q's team.

As mentioned numerous times in this thread, the WHL is icing two teams, and not all players have been picked yet. The rest of the team will be announced sometime this month.

I'd still take Beauchemin over Natsyuk... but since there will be two teams, I think they'll both have there chances

Why is Beauchemin selected, he is 19th and Nastiuk rated 1? Glass has played real good in Kootenay also?

Cause he plays for the PA Raiders...and they sucks that's why :D

Seriously if it wasn't for him I think they'd be carried out of the WHL :lol

OKay Okay they're not that bad actualy abnd got some good player (at least Chipchura and Collington...aside from that they're average at best)... but I like to pick on them and I really like Beauchemin :dunno:

Players in bold are currently injured, I believe. Phaneuf should be back from what I hear, if he hasn't already returned to the ice. Boyd was out with a concussion, but could have come back, as I'm not updated on his injury.

Fistric and Rogers will not play. Fistric broke his jaw, this time in a different spot. Rogers is still bothered by a bum ankle.
