The G Man 09-21-2004, 06:52 AM NOTE - THIS IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE FOLKS WHO PLAYED AND WON THIS PAST WEEK
Week 2 saw 18 of our remaining 40 entrants get eliminated, due in large part to Chicago's win over Green Bay. In addition we had 6 people who failed to vote and thus are eliminated (Herby, Maple Leafs Forever, Schlep Rock, sveiglar, Teezax, uzziman). That leaves the following 21 individuals alive for week 3:
Alexander the Great
Cayouche5
ChubarovRocks
Cuiffitelli
DocHolliday
Dr Love
GB
Hercules Rockefeller
John Flyers Fan
ObeySteve
Rick Middleton

Week 2 Poll (http://www.hfboards.com/showthread.php?p=1898378#post1898378)
(For those who don't know what it is, this is a pool where each week you pick a team in the NFL who you think will lose. If they end up winning, you're eliminated. And once you choose a team, you can't use them again. I've made the pool into a 15 selection public poll format so that your selection will be recorded for you. I've tried to pick the worst 14 matchups for the week and made selection 15 "other" which will require you to reply with your selection.)
klingsor 09-21-2004, 07:03 AM Talk about luck!!!
No wonder I'm still alive. I thought we were supposed to predict the winner.

That's why you picked Arizona in week 1? :lol
Kashmir 09-21-2004, 09:14 AM I think it's a good week to choose the Packers...
Even without Edgerrin James, the Colts should win easily.
Cuiffitelli 09-21-2004, 09:52 AM Chicago
Rick Middleton 09-21-2004, 11:03 AM Arizona (-10.5) at Atlanta, 1:00 pm
Baltimore (+2.5) at Cincinnati, 1:00 pm
Chicago (-9.5) at Minnesota, 1:00 pm
Cleveland (-2.5) at N.Y. Giants, 1:00 pm
Houston (-8.5) at Kansas City, 1:00 pm
Jacksonville (-6) at Tennessee, 1:00 pm
New Orleans (-7) at St. Louis, 1:00 pm
Philadelphia (+4) at Detroit, 1:00 pm
Pittsburgh (Pk) at Miami, 1:00 pm
San Diego (-10) at Denver, 4:05 pm
Green Bay (-6) at Indianapolis, 4:15 pm
San Francisco (-11) at Seattle, 4:15 pm
Tampa Bay (-3) at Oakland, 8:30 pm
Dallas (NL) at Washington, 9:00 pm
Open date: Buffalo, Carolina, New England, N.Y. Jets
I may have reversed the numbers, I always get that mixed up. Anyway, the team with a plus number beside them is the favourite (i.e. Balt over Cincy). The team with the minus, therefore, is the underdog (i.e. SD is 10 point underdog to Denver).
Rick's pick is San Diego. Denver ownz at home.
Leopold Stotch 09-21-2004, 01:10 PM I'd normally pick Green Bay, but unless the Colts stop Green, they'll keep this one very close, especially if James doesn't play.
I'll go with Da Bears. While they may have upset Green Bay, I have a feeling the Vikings will rebound from that loss with a big win at the Metrodome.
ObeySteve 09-21-2004, 01:29 PM Are you keeping track of who each person has already picked?
Anyway, I'm going with the Chargers.

Hockeyfan02 09-21-2004, 02:34 PM I'm going with Houston this week. They couldnt get a win out of playing the Chargers or Lions in the first two weeks. Even with how bad the Chiefs are playing I dont see them losing to a Texans team at home.
in the hall 09-21-2004, 06:44 PM hey Gman, I forgot to vote last week but my pick was the Bolts for sure. Can I stay in this?
proof: Diehard Jets fan, I predicted a 36-7 blow out on a Jet MB and my yahoo pickem shows the same, can I stick please :x
Cayouche5 09-21-2004, 07:25 PM I'm going with San-Diego this week.
Midnight Meat Train 09-21-2004, 10:21 PM 49ers
sveiglar 09-22-2004, 06:48 AM Yeah, I'm out officially, but I'm gonna keep picking until I lose just for the hell of it (hit on the Vikes Monday night).
In the vein of not picking the gimmes.. I'll take the 2-0 Jags to lose to Tennessee.
I'll take the 49ers to lose to the Seahawks
DisplacedIslander 09-22-2004, 10:44 AM I'm going to go out on a limb here, and take Kansas City to lose to Houston (you read it right).
I really don't see it being out on a limb though. The Chiefs haven't beat anyone yet, their receiving game is going down the toilet, Priest Holmes looks to be out for this week, Trent Green couldn't hit the broad side of a Guinness truck with his passes right now.
Put me down for the Chiefs to run screaming from the warpath.
John Flyers Fan 09-23-2004, 10:59 AM Gimme da Bears ... no Mike Brown in the secondary will be a problem especially playing in the dome.
Charlie_Girl 09-23-2004, 11:57 AM I'll take Arizona this week.

That means one of us will be eliminated this week.
ObeySteve 09-23-2004, 02:06 PM Actually, I do believe Houston has a good chance of beating the Chiefs....not much better than 50%, but they definitely have a good chance.
klingsor 09-23-2004, 02:44 PM That means one of us will be eliminated this week.
Did The G Man say anything about ties?
DisplacedIslander 09-23-2004, 04:40 PM That means one of us will be eliminated this week.
If Holmes is 100%, they could pull out a win. If he's less than that or doesn't play at all, it doesn't look too good with 4 starters out on offense, and the only viable end zone threat being double teamed.
The G Man 09-24-2004, 10:22 AM The following folks have yet to vote:
AJW
ChubarovRocks
DocHolliday
go kim johnsson
In addition, the poster "tray" is ineligible.
So what happens if it's a tie? I'm assuming you're eliminated.

Yep. You need to pick a "loser"

I wait until I do my official picks for the week.

WHich I just did I'm taking Da Bears. In a dome, against a lethal offense. No Mike Brown. Urlacher isn't healthy. 34-10
So what happens if it's a tie? I'm assuming you're eliminated.
I'm actually doing that this week, I'm picking Dallas/Washington to end in a tie. I came up with 10 points for both teams. I'm not impressed with either's offense and I beleive Dallas will shut down Clinton Portis since with an already good secondary shouldn't have a problem shutting down Patick Ramsay throwing, and Mark Brunell likes to give the ball to the other team anyways.
ObeySteve 09-25-2004, 08:17 AM I have a feeling this will be down to as little as 5 people by the end of week 4.
uzziman 09-25-2004, 02:28 PM NOTE - THIS IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE FOLKS WHO PLAYED AND WON THIS PAST WEEK
. In addition we had 6 people who failed to vote and thus are eliminated (uzziman). That leaves the following 21 individuals alive for week 3:
I distictly remember voting for the Miami Dolphins. I even made a post about how I just picked them randomly.

Hockeyfan02 09-26-2004, 06:55 PM KC lost so I'm out. I knew I should have taken Chicago instead of them, but oh well.
go kim johnsson 514 09-26-2004, 07:03 PM ...Well I took Da Bears....
I figure they lost their 2 best defensive players for this week, should have been an easy pick, but nothing is easy with Minnesota...
Charlie_Girl 09-26-2004, 08:22 PM I'm still alive - way to go Atlanta!!
Good old reliable 49ers :D
ObeySteve 09-26-2004, 09:14 PM I'm going to go out on a limb here, and take Kansas City to lose to Houston (you read it right).

Nice pick.
Still boneheaded to make such a risky pick in week 3, but whatever, I'll still give you props.
sveiglar 09-27-2004, 05:48 AM Jags win, so I'm out... again.
Rick Middleton 09-27-2004, 07:21 AM Rick lives on to make an ass out of himself another day.
Woohoo!
DisplacedIslander 09-27-2004, 10:46 AM Glad I went with my gut, but my gut almost betrayed me until :07 in the 4th quarter.
Oh well. On to Week 4.
TVanek26* 09-27-2004, 01:31 PM Still alive and I haven't picked the Cards,Bills or Dolphins yet! :D
That's 3 gimmes right there :)
Vic Rattlehead 09-27-2004, 02:48 PM Yeah, I'm out officially, but I'm gonna keep picking until I lose just for the hell of it (hit on the Vikes Monday night).
In the vein of not picking the gimmes.. I'll take the 2-0 Jags to lose to Tennessee.
Tough loss for the Titans.

Sorry about that. However, you didn't vote in week 2. You made a reply instead, which unfortunately I didn't see. I just check the poll to see who has voted. If there is an "other" vote then I scan the thread. Making things worse, you didn't vote this time around, so you're definitely out.
