The G Man 09-09-2004, 07:50 AM For those who don't know what it is, this is a pool where each week you pick a team in the NFL who you think will lose. If they end up winning, you're eliminated. And once you choose a team, you can't use them again. I've made the pool into a 15 selection public poll format so that your selection will be recorded for you. I've taken the worst 14 teams in the league last year (with a tweak here or there) and made selection 15 "other" which will require you to reply with your selection.
Only Sunday and Monday games may be included.
If you do not play week 1, you may not join later on.
sveiglar 09-09-2004, 07:57 AM I'll try a somewhat more risky play in week 1, and hopefully save the softballs like 'Zona and the Bolts for later. That requires getting to later, I suppose...

I tend more towards the "go with your best bet" philosophy ... as all those who took Houston to lose to Dallas on opening day last year will attest to. :D

sveiglar 09-09-2004, 12:40 PM Nobody else on the 'Aints bandwagon this week? SeaHawks gonna light 'em up.
klingsor 09-09-2004, 12:46 PM It will be ugly for the Giants....
Wouldn't be surprised. Too many holes, but maybe they'll find out which new guys are players and which guys aren't.
If Eagles by some strech of the imigination lose, it's gonna be EXTREMELY ugly for them till the next game.
Tuggy 09-09-2004, 01:18 PM Giants and its going to be ugly!
Hockeyfan02 09-09-2004, 02:14 PM It will be ugly for the Giants....
Yes it will be. There are some other teams that look like locks to lose but the Giants in Philly with: Warner who cant hang on to the ball+his crappy o-line+Philly's blitzes= one misterable day for the Giants offense. I went with the Giants. Miami and Cleveland look like sure locks to me as well, but Cleveland goes to Baltimore later in the year and I think we all know how well the Dolphins play in December weather.
Snugglepuss 09-09-2004, 04:35 PM Cleveland Browns

Verbal Kint* 09-09-2004, 08:54 PM I pick the Giants.
I'll take the Giants ... with Warner and his happy feet ... the Eagles offense will have a number of short fields to work with.
This one could be a massacre. With the eagles now having both Hugh douglas and Jevon Kearse along with Trotter they are gonna blitz heavy and with that o-line in NY get Eli ready to go in when Warner is drilled and recieves a concussion
Other: Kansas City Chiefs
That's ballsy I'll give ya that

The G Men winning would eliminate 16 of us, that would thin out the herd significantly.
Throw in Arizona and Cleveland and you're left with scant few people standing.

Nah. Sure, it's easy for me to say that now that they lost. But I have seen the Giants in recent years and I had no expectations of a comeback. None at all.

In "theory" you would have superior information by waiting an addl day. Consider the hypothetical situation that Brett Favre was questionable for tonight. If he was not going to play, GB would be a much more promising pick for tonight. The opposite would be true of Carolina if he were to play.
Sorry, dude. A deadline is a deadline.
