Article on the top 40 Finland Prospects.

Ville Mantymaa 13th, Janne Pesonen 26th, Joonas Vihko other notable.

Interesting that Mantymaa could be on his way to being the best current D-Man prospect from Finland.

I already posted after the draft that Mantymaa could be a real steal in the 9th round. Last season he played 21 games in the SM-Liiga and he should be there full-time this season. Not bad for a 19 year old...

I'd place Kantee and Niskala ahead of him on this list. I'm suprised to see Mäntymaa up that high... 15-20 would have been better IMO...

Any reason Mantymaa isn't in the Ducks top 20 prospects? Looks like he might have a better chance of coming over to North America than Korsunov.

Better chance maybe, but if Korsunov ever came over, I think Korsunov has a higher potential. Anyway, look for a new top 20 after the rookie tourney. Holmqvist, Malec and Smirnov have to drop into the mix as well.

I saw Smirnov practicing on the olympic rink at Disney Ice an hour before day 1 of the tournament. He looked pretty good out there in a mini game with Andy McDonald, Steve Rucchin, Mike Leclerc, UFA Travis Green and New Jersey Devil Jeff Friesen.
