Douggy 11-16-2004, 09:57 PM What's the deal with Vadim Karaga.
I loved watching this guy in the OHL, but I dont think he came back after the U20 Div 1 last year. :(
Euro hockey says he's playing in Belarus again this year:

Some key players on that team, Konstantin Zakharov, Vladimir Kopat and Artem Chernov.
Sakaarnis 04-29-2006, 04:11 PM Note: Liepajas Metalurgs has withdrwan from Belarus Open League for next season due to financial reasons. They will play in Latvian League and will mostly use their home grown talent born 1990. While it seems like a good cometition for such a young guys and considering LM 90 and especialy 91 crop has all the talent you need i dont think 16 yo kids playing against seniors is the best way to continue their progress.

I would like to compare it with the situation in Ukraine where Sokol's youth teams also played senior hockey without achieving good results. I think the Latvians are stronger though but still...

The situation is that Sokol '89 and '90 can only compete against eachother. I'd like to see how these team's grow next season as this was their first season having split youth teams in the Ukrainian hockey league.

x eric x 08-15-2006, 05:55 PM is there a site to buy jerseys from this league?
There is not one specific site where you can purchase jerseys, rather you'd probably find you best bet on searching the team name on a search engine and going from there.

FissionFire 11-09-2007, 09:05 AM Does anyone have a working link for the Dinamo Minsk team? I haven't been able to access their homepage for awhile now.
They have changed their web address to www.hcdinamo.org
www.hockey.by has all the links to updated Belarussian clubs

malkinfan 04-10-2008, 10:40 PM Which teams will leave to the new kontinental league, and what will happen to the survival to the rest of the league?
Ky born Pilot 04-25-2008, 03:40 PM None of the teams are leaving its more of a "super club" that will be Dinamo Minsk that will be playing out of Bobriusk's new 7,000 seat arena for at least one season due to look of sufficient stadium in Minsk.
Which teams will leave to the new kontinental league, and what will happen to the survival to the rest of the league?
This continental league is still in very premature stages. Although they have noted that Minsk, and Kyiv would be possible future additions to the league, no more information has been disclosed.
Ky born Pilot 05-29-2008, 07:02 PM With HC Dynamo Minsk in the KHL and no news whether they will operate a second team in the new team in the new Belorussian Open League, we have word (in Latvian only right now, sorry), that the big 4 from Latvia, ASK/Ogre, HK Riga 2000, DHK Latgale, and HK Liepajas Metalurgs, will play in the Belorussian Open League.
