Finland meets the winner of USA vs Russia match and the other semi final will be Sweden/Czech vs Canada/Slovakia. Jazz 09-07-2004, 04:11 PM Yea, there is a cross over. Finland meets the winner of USA vs Russia match and the other semi final will be Sweden/Czech vs Canada/Slovakia. This is what I thought originally, but according to CBC, they will re-seed after the QF stage. Highest ranking Euro-seed will face lower NA seed + Highest ranking NA-seed will face lower Euro seed. AGraveOne 09-07-2004, 04:22 PM glad to hear there is a cross-over...that will make it more interesting. Not true, it's FIN vs. USA/RUS and CZE vs. CAN/SLO Bennysflyers16 09-07-2004, 04:37 PM Assuming Canada wins :::::: If Russia wins tonight, it will Canada vs Czechs, if USA wins, it will be Canada vs USA. It is because the 4 remainig teams are re-seeded. Canada would be 1st, Finland 2nd, Russia 3rd, USA and Czechs 4th. If USA wins tonight, The Czechs get 3rd due to an even goal for/goal against, USA is -1 . Frozen 09-07-2004, 04:39 PM Not true, it's FIN vs. USA/RUS and CZE vs. CAN/SLO I thought so too but I wouldn't be that sure anymore. On a Finnish site (http://www.nelonen.fi/worldcup/) they said that Finland would play either USA or Russia in the semi final, unless Slovakia manages to surprise Canada. Now that would make Gurj right, if they had it right on their site. I looked and cant find anything. I'm confused. Canada (if victorious) plays again saturday though, since that game is in Toronto and the friday semifinal is in Minny. Right? It's OK, we all know the NHL wants a USA/Canada final.
