Just wanted to get some info on him, and why the Ducks didn't sign him. He's been invited to the Habs rookie camp/tournament, just wanted to get some info from Ducks fans. Was it a lack of progression in his game? Thanks.

I was over at the Habs board and saw that he was invited and was going to say something actually. He should be familiar with James Sanford, although Sanford was Nathan Saunders' partner not Caron's.
First off here's his profile

Why wasn't he signed? I think it had more to do with money then anything else. Instead of spending money on 9th round project like Caron, (or other blueliners like Brian Lee and Luke Fritshaw), Anaheim opted to spend money on Aaron Rome and also acquire Tomas Malec in a trade. Both Malec and Rome are more likely to make an NHL impact then Caron.
Caron may be able to make it to the NHL some day, but he needs a good farm system to bring him along slowly. He still requires plenty of work.

Thanks, I got to see Moncton once this year but hadn't paid attention to them as it was against Rimouski and the Sidney Crosby Show

This isn't part of the thread, but how did Crosby look in person?

though this wasn't pointed at me, I'll reply as well
I've seen Crosby in person twice, once at the RE/MAX challenge and once as Rimouski vs. Halifax. He is honestly that good. I went into both games a bit skeptical of him and his "aura". And for the first little bit, I wasn't impressed. Then I started noticing stuff.
Whenever the puck squirted loose, he was there. Whenever a rebound came out, he was there. Whenever there was a play to be made or a pass to complete, he was there. He simply saw the ice so well and knew what everyone was going to do and where he had to be. And then once in position, he had the moves to do whatever he wanted.

I've seen Crosby maybe 10 times last year and he is the real deal, I do think his size is a bit of a concern, but he's very strong lower body which is great for his age. Any team that gets him is getting one heck of a prospect.
