Rossi really isn’t that good…

Undersized skill center with average skating sound familiar?

Minny has just caught on to their mistake faster than we did

Friedman speculated on 32T that Keith Tkachuk may have encouraged the Sens to hire Green since the two of them were teammates in Phoenix.

FTR I don’t think Green is a horrid head coach. I doubt he’ll be the guy who turns it around but I don’t think he’ll be a total disaster either.
I wasn't a fan of the hire but the fans and media reacted so badly that I'm now rooting for him. He did get the short end of the stick in Vancouver and IMO he deserves another shot.

What happened in NJ is irrelevant (assitant coach named head coach when the season was already lost).

21 goals and 40 points as a 2C on a bad team..Dude is still on ELC and lost a year of development due to Covid complications.

40 points is the new 30 points in this era. Those are 3C numbers with a couple extra goals. He’s 22 this is more or less who he is regardless of time missed. He got PP2 time and more importantly time with Kaprizov and Boldy where I’d guess a disproportionate amount of those points came from.

Rossi isn't good. Teams really need to learn that undersized centers with meh skating just don't translate. The only ones that do have absurd IQ. So if they don't have that, value them like a winger and plan the transition to that spot.

So let‘s trade him for Colton. I still think he is getting better.

Man, Canadian goaltending has really hit the skids. Binnington nearly blew it for Team Canada at the Worlds just now. What's up with that? The ones they have to choose from for the Olympics are...not great.

Like a bunch of rich restauranteurs fighting one another for a half-eaten Big Mac. I get that he's won a Cup but Jesus Christ...

Price was the last one. It's been downhill for a decade+

Doesn't make any sense. The US is churning out elite goalies left and right. There's no discernible advantage there that I can see, unless the USHL and NCAA are just that much better at it than the CHL.
I think it comes down to different factors, mainly kids wanting to play goalie or not.

In the 90's a shitload of NHL goalies came from the Q just because kids wanted to be Roy. Now I think Monty is the only starter from the Q in the league.

An eponymous award handed out by Messier was given to a New York Ranger?

Haahahahahahahahahaaaaa they deserve to lose that franchise if that’s who they go with.

On the other hand, Bergevin and his designer suits heading from glitzy Los Angeles to…Columbus, Ohio would be even more hilarious.

Mark Messier, the man who demanded captaincy upon arrival in Vancouver, had Trevor Linden traded, and made the Canucks un-retire the jersey of a man who died from cancer just so he can wear it, has a leadership award?

Huh.
He’s so mythologized there because of one quote and one game. They just kinda ignore all those years he came back a total shell of himself and left them a mediocre team for years while he didn’t practice and played soft 4th line minutes.

Frankly Trouba is fully deserving of the “Mark Messier” Award.

Always been interesting to me how Messier is perceived.

Great job winning in New York in 94, full marks there but Gretzky made this guy's life so much easier in the 80s.
