Thats called natural progression as you enter your 3rd NHL season and your Prime. His point production jump from Columbus to New York is because playing for Torts stifles offense. This isnt some unknown phenomenon.

Entering his 3rd season is natural progression but entering his 5th season is not?

Seems like an arbitrary cut off for one to be natural progression and for the other to not be.

Almost like NYR has much better talent for him to play with.
Wow. What a murders row he got to play with that first season.

And now he gets too play with offensive juggernauts like Chris Keieder and Vincent Trocheck. I mean of course he is going to pour in the points with such world class offensive weapons around him!

Not sure if you're joking? Kreider, Trocheck, Fox, Zibanejad have all been pretty prolific scorers.

Whereas CBJ has PLD, joey anderson, duchene, foligno, atkinson, bjorkstrand, seth jones, yuck....

Not really fair to suggest that Panarin's point production improved when he left Torts for New York if you're not also going to acknowledged that Panarin's point production increased when he joined Torts after Chicago.
Seems like there's something about coaches like Tortorella and Quennville huh

Here are the season averages for these prolific sorcers

Kreider 55
Trocheck 59
Zubanejad 65
Fox 70 (of look one actually impressive one)

Wow, what an amazing, prolific group of scorers. Truly awe inspiring.

You have a million good arguments at your disposal to make the case that Tortorella is a stifling coach who doesn’t make his best players shine. You don’t have to resort to ridiculous arguments like this one to make that case.

Each of those players are excellent, and you are blatantly misrepresenting their impact. Particularly in the case of Zibanejad who has been PPG+ over the last six years.

Yeah all their point totals went up when Panarin showed up. Really shows how good of a player Panarin is.

I wonder why he wasn't able to have that sort of impact for the CBJs.

I’ll be excited to watch him if he comes and happy for him to make like 10s of more millions. But I 100% want him to come over as scheduled. If we hit on the way to him coming here and have a very bad year the year before he comes then things could line up for the best rookie lineup of all time. You could load up on short term UFAs.

Goal scoring has trended up. We can’t pretend scoring is the same as it was in 2018-2019.

However, we can say that the Rangers having a yearly top 5 PP helps Panarin’s scoring. Columbus in 18-19 was the 2nd worst PP in xGF/60 and 4th worst in GF/60. That was with prime Panarin, Werenski, Jones, Dubois, Atkinson, Anderson, Jenner, Bjorkstrand, Duclair, etc.

Tortorella teams blowing on the PP — and that lowers point totals — is a feature. Did you know Rocky Thompson is returning because Tortorella just loves him to pieces?
