Canucks Army is reporting that today is the 10th anniversary of the firing of Mike Gillis as Canucks GM. And he hasn't worked as an NHL GM since. Same story with the guy who replaced him, Jim Benning. I'm beginning to doubt that either guy is likely to ever be in charge of an NHL team again.
It takes an owner with a special talent for first hiring and then retaining GM's who would seem to be un-hirable anywhere else in the league.
