Lou, it's really easy to understand: when Charlie Coyle puts up career numbers in the regular season playing more minutes with better wingers than ever before those stats prove he's great. When he once again fails to produce in the playoff, like he has every single post-season but one, stats are meaningless and only morons cite them.

Hope this clears things up.

Glad I never consumed the crow that was being force fed after the regular season.

A few games into the postseason it hopped up off the plate and flew out the window.

Hope it didn’t give the people who ate it an upset stomach

There isn't any mystery with Coyle. He is a low end 2C in the NHL. The problem is come PO time when literally half the NHL goes away, you are left with matching him up against teams such as TB (Point, Stamkos\Cirelli) Toronto (Matthews\Tavares) and
Florida (Barkov, Bennett) whose Top 6C are just flat out better than him and tend to get the better of play against him.

And every roster has a weakness. If it was just Coyle’s slot you were behind the 8 ball on you can compensate elsewhere. But when you are losing the head to head battle all 60 minutes at center, that’s a tough hill.

Its extremely unlikely but I would like to see them bring in a couple of centers in
Lindholm and Stephenson to push him to 3C and Zacha to LW with DeBrusk moving on.
